Sweetness Of Memories
Times I did not concern myself
with responsibilities.
Jersey Guys on the corner
in worn ripped jeans holding a beer
& cigarette, they looked so
dangerous but incredibly cool.
Jersey Girls walking the Boardwalk
no supervision in sight to see how far
they could go without getting trashed.
Bikers driving by,Radio playing greatest
hits of the times. The times were so different
its hard to explain,
If you were there you would know what I mean.

I close my eyes just to remember
the smells on the Asbury Park Boardwalk.
The sweetness of the memories,
the innocents, the times
I did not concern myself
with responsibilities.
I close my eyes just to remember
cruising the "Circuit."
The Jersey Guys standing
on the corner
in their worn ripped blue jeans,
holding a beer and
smoking their cigarettes looking so dangerous but
incredibly cool.
I close my eyes just to remember
the sounds of the Bikers driving by, the boardwalk ausements, and the
radio playing the greatest hits of the times.
I close my eyes just to remember
The Jersey Girls walking
the boardwalk with no supervision in sight,
to see how far
they could go without getting trashed.
Lawlessness and rebellious nights of freedom, they lust
to feel the exhilaration of life in the flesh.
Careless times, no thoughts of regrets on the Boardwalk in Asbury Park where memories last.
A life time ago, I was one in the crowd
blending in to the night life and
feeling alive.
The times were so different and hard
to explain unless you were there,
you would know what I mean.
Is it fading away? Will it perish in time?
Trying to hold on to the memories from
my youthfull past.
When I feel the warmth of the summer breeze
I close my eyes just to remember ,
the smells on the Asbury Park boardwalk,
the sweetness of the memories;
the innocents, and the times
I did not concern myself
with responsibilities.
When I feel the warmth of the summer breeze
I close my eyes just to remember,
Cruising the circuit,the Jersey guys
on the corner
in their worn, ripped blue jeans holding a beer
and smoking their cigarettes looking so dangerous but so
incredibly cool.
When I feel the warmth of the summer breeze
I close my eyes just to remember,
the sounds of the Biker,s driving by, the boardwalk amusements and the
radio playing the greatest hits of the times.

Is it fading away will it perish in time
just to hold on to some memories
of my generations past.
